Flexi Strip-Light
Q: I have bought one of your 5m RGB LED Flexi-Strip Kits and I want to fit them under my kitchen units. My kitchen units are already 240V pre-wired for under unit lights with a switch on the wall. Can I cut the plug off your supplied power adapter and connect it to my existing supply?
A: No, you can't as the plug contains an integrated driver. However, we supply and alternative power supply ( item 5389) that has the plug and driver separate. You can then remove plug and connect the driver to your existing wiring.
Q: I have opened up the 5m RGB Flexi-Strip kit and both the connections on the infrared receiver and on the coiled strip kit are four-pin male connectors. How do I join them together?
A: The strip has been coiled up the wrong way round - simply unwind it and you will see the female connector at the other end.
Q: I have connected my 5m RGB Flexi-Strip kit together but it will not work. It is plugged in and power is on at the socket but nothing happens, what could the problem be, please?
A: Two possible likely problems. Have you taken the plastic pull out of the battery on the remote, if not remove this and try again. If it still doesn't work then check the connection from the receiver to the strip as this is polarity sensitive (polarity is making sure live is to live and neutral to neutral) there will be a small arrow to one of the pins on the receiver side this needs to be inserted to the +DC side on the strip.
Q: I have bought one of your 5m Warm White LED Flexi-Strip kits but now I want to extend it. Can I just add on your 0.5m piece?
A: No, unfortunately not. As the plug-in driver that comes with the strip is rated at 30W and should only be used to run the 5m strip supplied, you would need to buy our more powerful driver (item 5389) which can supply up to 72W.
Q: Am I ok to fit your LED Flexi-Strip kit outside in my garden?
A: The strip itself is IP65 rated and can be used outdoors. However the driver and plug is not. These will need to be installed in a suitable IP rated enclosure.
