LED T8

Q: I have two types of 5ft T8 fluorescent in my garage - one with a starter and one without a starter, can I just swap the fluorescent tubes for your LED T8 tubes in both fittings?

A: For the one with a starter you can just change the starter for our LED starter and change the tube and it will work. If it is a twin fitting then you need to check if it has two ballasts (one for each tube) - if so, then you can change the starters for our LED starter also. If it is a twin fitting with only one ballast then your fitting will need re-wiring to mains as per the instructions. If re-wiring, ensure that the lamp stamp end of the tube is the end wired to the mains end and attached the warning sticker to the fitting to indicate that the fitting has been re-wired.

Q: I have wired a fluorescent fitting for mains end as suggested. I have put the LED tube in and there was a small pop and the tube won't light, what is the problem, please?

A: You have probably installed the tube the wrong way round, check that the lamp stamp end of the tube is wired to the mains. If not, turn the tube around and try again. Also, check that you have attached the warning sticker to the fitting to indicate that the fitting has been re-wired.

Q: I have put the LED tubes in and there is a thin long dark patch running the length of the tube, is this faulty?

A: The tube has been installed upside down, simply twist the tube around until the dark patch not showing.

Q: I have a twin fitting, will your LED tubes work in this?

A: Check if your fitting has two starter and two ballasts inside? If so, then yes, simply change the starters for our LED starters install the LED tubes in and it will work. If there is only one ballast then no, it will need re-wiring to mains as per the instructions. If it is an high-frequency (HF) ballast then this will also need re-wiring to mains. If re-wiring, ensure that the lamp stamp end of the tube is the end wired to the mains end and attached the warning sticker to the fitting to indicate that the fitting has been re-wired.
